It’s been a minute since I opened a can of tuna. I never really know what to do with them to make the tuna more appetizing, but I’ve been an advocate of making burgers with canned salmon, so I decided to give this idea a try! I’ve found you can sear a nice crispy outside on these patties which gives a whole new life and definition to the canned tuna. It’s an easy recipe you can turn to time and again when you’re in a pinch!

Tuna Patties for Easy Lunches

Can I be honest? I low-key hate lunch time. I’m a bottomless pit most days, and it’s really gotten old, especially since I became an entrepreneur. I don’t want a break in the middle of the day, and planning out lunches is just not something I have time for when I’m already cooking and grocery shopping non stop all week. If I don’t have leftovers on hand I just don’t know what to do and end up with a boring old protein shake.
Enter: tuna patties!

These patties are a breeze to make a batch of and they’ve got a great amount of protein to help keep you full and alive and stuff. Lunch makes no sense to me as a concept, but these tuna patties absolutely do. Plus, these patties can be frozen, reheated for quick meals, and served literally any way you want. Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew. Actually, those sound like the three ways you shouldn’t serve these, but anything else should be fine.

Easy Dill Pickle Aioli

No matter how you want to serve your patties (in a bun, on a salad, etc) you should totally serve them with this Dill Pickle Aioli. I’m a self-proclaimed nemesis of mayo, but the addition of Bubbies Pickles and a bunch of fresh dill adds the perfect amount of zest and crunch to make such a delightful aioli that you’ll totally forget mayo was ever involved in the recipe.

I used my go-to pickles from Bubbies for the aioli. Their naturally fermented pickles have the best spice blend that I’ve found in a pickle jar and they’re wildly addictive. I used a tiny bit of the pickle juice in the aioli and it’s just enough flavor to perfectly contrast against the tuna patties. Some things are simply meant to be and the pickley aioli/tuna combo is one of them.
And if you’re looking for other ways to spice up your lunch game, Bubbies has a Spicy Sauerkraut that I’m also a huge fan of!
